This database includes an initial set of organizations that offer tutoring, technology platforms or academic interventions along with relevant information if available.  This is not meant to be an inclusive list, but a starting point. We welcome additional organizations to join the database by completing this form.

  • Tutoring programs are those organizations that offer one-on-one and/or small group tutoring directly to students, either in-person, virtually, or through both modes of delivery.
  • Technology platforms are technology platforms that facilitate tutoring programs.
  • Interventions offer materials (e.g., an instructional scope and sequence, placement assessment, progress monitoring tools) that are used by a tutoring program, but do not offer tutoring directly.

This database is intended for Districts, States or nonprofits to identify potential tutoring partners, for potential tutors to identify potential employers and for tutoring organizations to have a clearer understanding of the landscape and to identify interventions that might be useful to their programs, if needed.

Please note that some of these programs are also listed on ProvenTutoring.org where you can find additional information on relevant research studies and costs.

The 916 Ink Read On! program delivers literacy tutoring for 1st-5th grade striving readers to help them reach grade-level reading goals.

Students enrolled in the Read On! program are elementary school-aged, striving readers who read at a beginning first grade to fifth grade level. Students are referred to Read On! by their classroom teacher, their school’s student support team, or administration. Reading tutors (AmeriCorps members, and 916 Ink staff) are matched to students, for a minimum of thirty-six sessions to provide research-based tutoring lessons that are proven to reduce the reading gap. Students receive 1:1 to 2:1, three 30-45 minute tutoring sessions, every week for the length of their involvement.

Since 2001, Academic Approach has pioneered personalized, skills-based test preparation and tutoring. Upholding the principle Tests are Standardized. Students are Not.™, we design custom programs for each student. Our approach goes beyond test scores, nurturing lifelong learning and empowering students to reach their full potential.

We offer personalized one-on-one, small group, and classroom academic and test preparation instruction for middle and high school students. We kick-start our tutoring programs with analysis of a student or school's academic and testing needs. This initial exploration involves a diagnostic test tailored to a student's academic level: ACT, SAT, or a high school admissions practice test. For those seeking academic support, we delve into a comprehensive review of previous tests or quizzes to pinpoint specific learning needs. This thorough examination allows us to understand each student's unique academic profile, setting the stage for a personalized tutoring program crafted to their distinct needs and learning style.

We believe that every student deserves a tailored approach to learning. Whether a student or cohort requires a few lessons or more in-depth instruction, we design a program to identify high-impact gaps in skills and strategies, match students to an instructor who provides a personalized teaching experience, and leverage our exceptional curriculum to help master the most impactful skills. Throughout a program, we consistently guide and motivate students to become more confident, successful learners and test takers. Through ongoing support, we aim to foster growth that extends beyond the classroom, preparing students for a lifetime of learning.

Access’ Self-Directed Learners' Tutoring Program is a 40-session, metacognitive learning development program that develops learning competence among each student in 40 sessions. Our goal is to help students develop fluency in literacy-based applications and in foundational self-directed study skills that aid learning. Another intent is to strengthen students' skills in self-directed learning strategies as well as to facilitate their ability to construct meaning from informational text. Our tutors are skilled in using a venerated cognitive science learning vehicle, Reciprocal Teaching, and in integrating cognitive strategies into the students’ learning process.

Because constructing understanding requires both cognitive and metacognitive elements, Access’ 40-session program is designed for students in grades 4-12. The program teaches and reinforces skills with the goal of accelerating students’ capacity to learn and improve their reading and writing competence. The summer program seeks to help students construct knowledge using cognitive strategies, guide, regulate, and evaluate their learning by using metacognitive strategies and provide students with a jump start for regular school programming.

We have been in business for over 35 years providing schools, state agencies, and parents with education support. We provide 1:1 and small group virtual tutoring before, during, and after school hours. A student simply signs up on our inquiry form and we assign them a tutor who is highly qualified to teach in that subject area. All of our tutors are educators who can meet the child where they are at and help them recover from covid learning loss using HQIM. We use zoom, so it's easy for students to engage with tutors online. Parents set up a schedule that is convenient for them. We bill the school district or the parents hourly for the tutoring time. Our hourly rate is $59.00 and $69.00 for small groups. We also provide Virtual Teachers to schools districts that are having staffing issues.

Our tutors can assist with K-12 and postsecondary academic subject areas, homework support, distance learning strategies, coaching, and creating routines to help with time management and organization. The tutoring staff at BES understand the difficulties that students who learn differently face every day. With an in-depth knowledge of different learning styles and how to address them, our tutors can individualize their methods to meet each student's needs. Depending on your child's age and need, we have a dynamic approach to support learning. From multisensory math and emerging literacy through AP and IB courses, our tutors can support your family.

For the past 10 years Bay Area Tutoring Association has been providing school day, after school, weekend and evening tutoring programs - both online and on premise. Core subjects are English, digital literacy, numeracy, reading comprehension and math. 1:7 tutor to student ratio. Depending on grade level, tutor to student ratio, our session lengths vary from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. We use school-approved curriculum, and also offer, Pearson, Edmentum and Leveled Literacy separately as needed. Our online tutoring programs are also offered during the day. We prefer to offer small group online programs in the evenings (after 6pm) so parents may observe and ask questions.

Families of students that require individualized supports have an uphill battle in determining what their child needs to succeed in school and how to go about getting it. Likewise, schools often face barriers in providing effective services to students with specialized learning plans: services can quickly become costly and resources are limited. Beacon professionals have been on both sides of the IEP table and are dedicated to creating partnerships between parents and the school in order to maximize support for the student.

Our goal is to get all participants at grade-level proficiency or above in math and/or reading. We accomplish this via small-group tutoring for grades PK4-12 in in-school, after-school, summer, and virtual programs targeted primarily at low-performing schools and students in South Dallas and surrounding communities. Students receive individualized attention, achieve academic mastery in core subjects, and show demonstrable proof of applied learning that will ensure their academic success in middle school, high school, and beyond. Each student is assessed, followed by the development of a customized learning plan. Certified professionals, assisted by trained volunteers, provide two to three hours of weekly tutoring using integrated exercises, workbooks, and storybooks. Students develop self-discipline, focus, and ability as they progress at their own pace; promoting confidence in their own abilities.
