  • Tutoring programs are those organizations that offer one-on-one and/or small group tutoring directly to students, either in-person, virtually, or through both modes of delivery. 
  • Technology platforms are technology platforms that facilitate tutoring programs.
  • Interventions offer materials (e.g., an instructional scope and sequence, placement assessment, progress monitoring tools) that are used by a tutoring program, but do not offer tutoring directly.  

This database is intended for Districts, States or nonprofits to identify potential tutoring partners, for potential tutors to identify potential employers and for tutoring organizations to have a clearer understanding of the landscape and to identify interventions that might be useful to their programs, if needed.

Our tutors can assist with K-12 and postsecondary academic subject areas, homework support, distance learning strategies, coaching, and creating routines to help with time management and organization. The tutoring staff at BES understand the difficulties that students who learn differently face every day. With an in-depth knowledge of different learning styles and how to address them, our tutors can individualize their methods to meet each student's needs. Depending on your child's age and need, we have a dynamic approach to support learning. From multisensory math and emerging literacy through AP and IB courses, our tutors can support your family. 


For the past 10 years Bay Area Tutoring Association has been providing school day, after school, weekend and evening tutoring programs - both online and on premise. Our on premise programs occur during the school day in-class and after school in conjunction with youth development programs (YMCA, Boys & Girls Club etc,.). Core subjects are English, digital literacy, numeracy, reading comprehension and math. 1:7 tutor to student ratio. Depending on grade level, tutor to student ratio, our session lengths vary from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. We use school-approved curriculum, and also offer, Pearson, Edmentum and Leveled Literacy separately as needed. Our online tutoring programs are also offered during the day. We prefer to offer small group online programs in the evenings (after 6pm) so parents may observe and ask questions.


Big Sky Tutoring is a local tutoring service based in Bozeman, Montana. We serve K-12 students by providing additional, personalized instruction to supplement their instruction at school. Our tutors work through classroom materials with their students to determine learning gaps and close them. We provide one-on-one tutoring after-school services in our centrally located tutoring center. Clients are able to utilize our services in a flexible manner. For some families, they may require 2-3 sessions to prepare for exams. For others, we provide long-term, ongoing student support, with the goals of increasing student understanding, improving academic outcomes, and supporting the development of students' self-confidence and independence.

Free, one-on-one online tutoring from qualified college students.


BRYTE is a student-led organization that pairs Brown undergraduate tutors with students ages 5-18 in refugee families. Currently, BRYTE works with over 170 refugee youth that are resettled from a diverse set of countries, including Iraq, Syria, Colombia, Nepal, Eritrea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Burma, Somalia, and others. Brown undergraduate, graduate, and medical school students serve as the tutors and mentors in the BRYTE program. Around 170 BRYTE volunteers work one-on-one with refugee students in their homes at least three hours per week. Volunteers spend time primarily tutoring (providing homework help and building on foundational literacy skills), but also engage in enrichment activities such as taking their students to visit the zoo, playing soccer at the park, or bringing them up to Brown's campus for community events.

CovEducation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that works to connect mentors from higher education institutions with K-12 students affected by school closures. Our mentors not only serve as academic tutors but also as role models who foster non-academic interests and career exploration. We also compile free, web-based educational resources for students, families, and educators, as well as partner with schools and other non-profits to improve the learning experience of K-12 students.


eTutorWorld offers one-to-one, and small group, online tutoring in math, science, English, and test prep for students in grades K-12. Tutors are carefully selected subject matter experts with college degree, often Masters, teaching experience, and go through extensive tutor training with ongoing coaching. Students are thoughtfully matched with a dedicated tutor for optimal personalized learning experience and mentoring relationship. Customized curriculum based on school and state standards, regular diagnostic assessments and Learn by Design teaching methodology to track progress. All sessions recorded and available for review. Sophisticated technology platform to manage large scale tutoring programs, currently delivering 2000 lessons per month. Flexible packages based on student needs. Now partnering with schools and districts to support high-impact tutoring initiatives.

HeyTutor's program vets, screens, and trains tutors directly from a district's community to serve students live, and in-person on their campus. Our inclusive Learning Gap Curriculum embraces extensive academic standards to provide students with a solid foundation across subjects. It often involves diagnostic assessments to identify learning gaps, followed by resources and activities aimed at closing those gaps and ensuring that all students can achieve the expected learning outcomes. Tutoring is embedded during the school day with push in or pull out sessions or before/after school alongside childcare and enrichment opportunities. HeyTutor can also leverage district curriculum to support in-classroom initiatives.


Hill Learning Center provides students and educators with the instruction, tools, and support they need to succeed in school, and in life. We serve students directly, and share the evidence based practices implemented in our school with educators everywhere via the Hill Learning System and educator professional development. Our signature program is HillRAP (Reading Achievement Program.) Hill Tutoring serves families with both individual tutoring and small-group classes that are built upon research, individualized instruction, and successful teaching techniques.

Intervene K-12's web-based platform supports data-driven, high-dosage small group tutoring for K-12 students across content areas. Intervene K-12 works closely with districts to diagnose students' misunderstanding by utilizing researched-based analytics. The programs' whole child approach prioritizes creating an authentic instructional environment that is culturally responsive.


We strive to close the equity and access gap for under-served populations Nationwide and provide high-quality tutoring by partnering with schools and universities to make available cost-effective online education services. In addition to the direct provision of supplemental academic supports, we train teachers and paraprofessionals to become more effective.

Grand Valley State University’s K-12 Connect program provides individualized K-12 academic support to students through virtual, high-dosage tutoring services. While K-12 Connect currently partners largely with Michigan school districts, the program is expanding to service districts across the US. K-12 Connect tutoring is flexibly designed, with tutoring offered in and outside of school, seven days a week. Tutors are highly trained and work in a community-based learning environment with ongoing coaching and collaborative peer and professional support. Additionally, tutors are given opportunities to earn literacy credentials.


Knoyo connects students from all walks of life so they may share their individual experiences and knowledge. Our tutors are college honors students from universities all across the country, from junior colleges to the Ivy League, to ensure that there's a perfect tutor for each student. We created this space to foster these invaluable connections, giving students a strong foundation to grow from.


Learning Bridge was created to help close the educational gap between children in foster care and their peers by providing one-on-one tutoring for kids who are struggling in school. The program began in August 2020. In February 2021 the nonprofit Learning Bridge that was created to sustain and grow the program. Our target demographic is youth in foster care in Kindergarten to 12th grade in Travis, Hays and Williamson Counties. The program is unique in its focus on foster kids, providing consistent academic support and coaching geared to their needs.


The goal of Math Motivators is to close the opportunity gap to, in turn, close the achievement gap by using a volunteer-driven math tutoring program that pairs underserved middle and high school students with professionals and college students with strong mathematics backgrounds.

Rutledge Educational Consulting, LLC provides virtual and on-site tutoring services to students in grades PK-12. Virtual students have access to a robust, personalized Google Classroom and join via Google Meet. On-site students enjoy a classroom setting with hands-on books and materials. We provide one-to-one tutoring for adult education and high school equivalency preparation (GED/TASC/HiSET) at two Cleveland-area locations, as well as nationally in our Virtual Classroom, conducted through Zoom. Our tutors are all volunteers. Unlike other programs, tutors may work with a different student each day. Because our adult learners did not succeed in more traditional classroom settings, our program offers the ultimate flexibility. 


Since 2020, Sharity Tutoring Inc. has been committed to supporting our community by providing free tutoring services to as many children as possible. On top of managing countless AP, IB, and AICE classes, the tutors at Sharity Tutoring are extremely involved in their community and are dedicated to providing academic assistance as well as guidance to students in grades K-12. By booking an appointment, individuals will receive a private virtual tutoring session completely free of cost. Sharity Tutoring is a 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit incorporation whose goal is to build a community of learners both locally and internationally through free tutoring services. In order to maximize the number of students Sharity's tutors are able to work with, tutors have developed flexible schedules to accommodate students on weekdays as well as weekends.


Sprout and S.T.E.M. is a nonprofit organization focused on providing the educationally disadvantaged with access to after-school supplementation, such as tutoring and mentorship.

The Halifax Helpers offers three free, virtual tutoring programs. The first is an Academic stream that supports students in all school subjects. The second is our EAL program that provides 1-on-1 English tutoring to language learners. The third is an EAL conversation group which provides a fun an dynamic environment for students to practice conversational English.


Brown University's online tutoring program is a free resource and service for all students of current partner K-12 schools offered through the Annenberg Institute, the Swearer Center and Tutor Matching Services. The Annenberg Institute's mission is rooted in conviction that improved educational equality leads to enriched opportunities for children and youth, ultimately contributing to more just and flourishing societies. Coupled with the Swearer Center's foundational components: community engagement, engaged scholarship, and social innovation, we strongly believe this program will have positive implications including higher graduation rates, higher rates of matriculation into a four-year university, higher grades on standardized testing, more positive attitude towards school and life, and higher self-esteem.
