NSync Accelerated Learning Solutions offers in-school tutoring, after school tutoring, and summer school tutoring to provide the support students need to catch up on their learning that was interrupted due to the COVID 19 Pandemic. Characteristics of the Typical Low-Achieving Learner: Literacy-based programming for participants offers hope for reversing the trend of poor student achievement. It hails from cognitive science and reading development research which connects learning and reading as a route to higher-than-expected achievement among participants with poor comprehension skills and competence. Typically, the low-achieving student can be described broadly as a typical novice learner; for him or her, traditional approaches to learning do not work. Oftentimes, he (or she) is a student having trouble constructing meaning from text, the primary mechanism traditional schools use to teach Participants content and skill. These are Participants who are unable to connect the dots and construct meaning from text and they lack the critical capabilities to engage as thinkers while in the process of reading or learning. For them the experience is a once over unfocused activity with little emerging as more important than anything else.
Despite targeted efforts in the classroom and schoolwide learning interventions in school, low-achieving participants make limited or stagnant progress as learners and as readers. Cognitive science research indicates that such a learner lacks metacognition, a capability to monitor and regulate a person's thinking processes. Lacking in metacognition, the learner is also lacking in two critically important sub-skills: (a) comprehension monitoring and (b) comprehension fostering capabilities, skills that more capable learners take for granted and that are critical to constructing meaning and thereby comprehension. The importance of students' developing meta-cognitive awareness is paramount to their development as readers and as writers. Why? Because metacognition is the critical BUT missing ingredient among most low performing participants that is required to transform them into better learners, more aware learners, more capable learners.

Springboard's recipe for impact is a method we call Family-Educator Learning Accelerators (or FELAs). FELAs are 5-10-week cycles during which teachers and parents team up to help kids reach learning goals. Programming combines personalized reading instruction for PreK-3rd graders, weekly workshops training parents as reading coaches, and professional development for educators.
Startup Reading rebalances the resources a teacher employs to deliver reading lessons to the individual student with the appropriate level of personal engagement.
Our approach uses digital reading lessons developed and tested in the classroom and in tutoring sessions to deliver individual reading lessons to the student.
A reading coach oversees the student's assignment, progress, and engagement. The reading coach spends 4-7 minutes with the individual student at the completion of the digital lesson. This reading coach engagement is critical to validating the student's understanding of the lesson and use of the lesson skills to read the content. But the reading coach also provides that essential human connection to the student, developing the student's confidence to read and to progress to more complex content.
The curriculum employs a phonics strategy and is fully aligned with the Science of Reading principles.
The program uses digital reading lessons in a tutoring style format. Each page in the student workbook has a digital lesson explaining a specific reading skill with directions for the student to follow in the examples. The lessons are designed to be presented to a class, a small group, or in a tutoring session.
The curriculum deploys a phonics approach in learning to decode words, aligned with the Science of Reading, by combining the sounds of consonants and vowels to read words followed by phrases and stories.
As a student completes their assigned digital lesson, a reading coach will spend time with the individual student on the following activities:
a) Review the student's completion of notations in the workbook as directed in the lesson.
b) Review the student's understanding of the content and reading skill in the lesson
c) Review the student's comfort in reading the content in the accompanying exercises.
The reading coach acknowledges the student's effort and expresses confidence that the student is making progress in learning to read. A reading coach will develop a mentor relationship with the student, and this individual relationship is a key aspect in successfully implementing the literacy foundation. of the program. We recommend a reading coach can work with 4 to 7 students over a 45-minute to one-hour reading lesson, spending 4-7 minutes with each student.
Founded in 2011 and home-grown in Philly, TEACH offers exceptional tutoring and educational programming K-College. TEACH’s tutoring approach starts with building strong relationships to promote both academic and social-emotional development through creative, engaging lessons. In a typical academic year, we serve upward of 640 students through classes and 1-on-1 tutoring, 75 educators through teacher professional development, and coordinate partnership programs with 10-15 local schools, charter networks, or nonprofits. The majority of our partnerships extend over multiple years and grant cycles. Brown University's online tutoring program is a free resource and service for all students of current partner K-12 schools offered through the Annenberg Institute, the Swearer Center and Tutor Matching Services. The Annenberg Institute's mission is rooted in conviction that improved educational equality leads to enriched opportunities for children and youth, ultimately contributing to more just and flourishing societies. Coupled with the Swearer Center's foundational components: community engagement, engaged scholarship, and social innovation, we strongly believe this program will have positive implications including higher graduation rates, higher rates of matriculation into a four-year university, higher grades on standardized testing, more positive attitude towards school and life, and higher self-esteem.

The TMS platform helps students connect with the right tutors at the right price. TMS is parent-friendly, allowing parents to search for tutors based on geographical location and subject. With TMS, families can schedule tutors online at the time that works best for them, even last minute. TMS makes it easy to decide which tutors might best fit a student's needs by assigning badges to tutors who are trained or certified by their institutions, such as High GPA or Tutor Essential Trained.
School districts can opt-in at no cost to have a TMS site built for their community that boasts a collection of tutors chosen specifically for their students. School districts can choose to allow local certified teachers to work as tutors on the platform. School districts can create vouchers with local or federal funds to support specific student groups by providing tutoring hours. TMS hosts a data dashboard for districts or school administrators with many customizations and tools to monitor teacher and student usage.
Tutor Matching Service has developed a 100% free online tutoring platform called GoBoard (www.GoBoard.com), the platform for all online TMS-booked sessions. GoBoard combines video conferencing, an interactive work canvas, and educational tools like a graphing calculator, an equation editor, molecular bonds creator, and much more. TMS creates unique links to session-specific GoBoard rooms, giving tutors and students easy access to a workspace that saves their progress for future sessions. With this continuous learning environment, tutors and students can build on past learning together.

We establish a tutoring program in each school district led by high school students that match high school student tutors to middle school and elementary school tutees.
Tutorfly is a high-impact tutoring company powered by Kip McGrath Education Centres. We provide both in person and synchronous virtual tutoring sessions for K-12 students. Tutorfly is equipped with our own learning management system complete with full audio, video, screen-share, and chat capabilities. Within our platform, students can begin working with a tutor in a small group but can then be sent to a “breakout room” to work independently or individually with the tutor. We can fully integrate with most single sign-on and rostering providers to ensure data privacy of students and ease of access. We provide parents, teachers, and administrators easy access to monitor student progress with an online dashboard.

A Yancy Life brings an innovative blended math, science, and reading assistance program that combines classroom instruction with computer-aided learning. Study Island, a Web-based standards mastery program, is the basis of Yancy's instruction in English/Language Arts (ELA), Math and Science. While each student is given log in credentials, and Study Island is, in itself, a full on-line instructional program for individual learning, student use of Study Island is limited during daily instruction. Instead, Yancy staff uses Study Island lessons and assessments for the basis of their primary mode of instruction -- rich face-to-face 1:1 and small group instruction. The Texas version of Study Island is aligned to the standards in Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Subjects targeted for this program are the Reading strand of English and Language Arts, Science and Mathematics, for grades 1-12. In its instruction for pre-kindergarten level, Yancy will focus primarily on the Emergent Literacy (Reading) and Mathematics skill domains, from the Texas Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines.
