Monica Lee

Monica Lee is the NSSA's Director of Research Operations. A quantitative researcher by training, Monica oversees the strategic alignment of research-related operations & processes at NSSA, conducts research, and leads the undergraduate summer research fellowship program. Her research to date has focused on examining student absenteeism and social emotional skills, engaging parents and families, and applying behavioral science theories in light-touch interventions across various educational contexts.

Monica holds a PhD in Educational Policy and a MA in Economics from Stanford University, an EdM in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a BS in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University. Her background as a first-generation college student and English Learner informs her work and scholarly interests.
