Module/ Session Description This module builds tutors' understanding of how people learn and remember information; the importance of effortful thinking, and distinguishing between elaborative and non-elaborative questions in HQIM. Tutors practice anticipating student misconceptions and responding to student thinking with prompts that support learners in thinking effortfully. This training is part of the more extensive training: HQIM Tutoring Modules Overview. Specific content on this topic is on pages 7 and 8.
