Tutoring Programs

AARP Foundation Experience Corps is a community-based tutoring program that engages highly trained people over 50 to help students become better readers by the end of third grade.

Program Focus Early Literacy
Tutor Consistent, trained volunteers, screened for ability to engage with students, provided with ongoing support
Instruction In-person and virtual when necessary, 1:1 tutor to student ratio or small group, minimum of two sessions per week
Learning Integration Partners with districts to integrate tutoring into the school academic program
Data Use Regularly uses standardized assessments based on the science of reading to diagnose each student’s specific academic needs and monitor progress
