AARP Foundation Experience Corps is a community-based tutoring program that engages highly trained people over 50 to help students become better readers by the end of third grade.
|Consistent, trained volunteers, screened for ability to engage with students, provided with ongoing support
|In-person and virtual when necessary, 1:1 tutor to student ratio or small group, minimum of two sessions per week
|Partners with districts to integrate tutoring into the school academic program
|Regularly uses standardized assessments based on the science of reading to diagnose each student’s specific academic needs and monitor progress
