Maishka Antoine

Maishka Antoine is a dedicated mathematics educator who views mathematics as a powerful tool for problem-solving and decision-making, and she works to show students the relevance of math in their daily lives and future goals. Her teaching philosophy centers on equity, ensuring that each student, regardless of background, has access to high-quality, engaging mathematical experiences. With a strong foundation in social-emotional learning, she prioritizes creating a supportive environment where students feel empowered to take risks, ask questions, and build resilience.

Maishka holds a Bachelor of Science from Union College double Majoring in Mathematics and Spanish, and minoring in Africana Studies. She later went on to deepen her pedagogical skills and enhance her knowledge of how math is taught across grade levels. She earned and pursued a Master of Science in Mathematics Education (Grades 7-12) from St. John’ University with the NYC Teaching Fellows and NY State certification. Then later earning an additional Masters of Science in Education (Childhood Education Grades 1-6) from Brooklyn College. Today she has the joy and privilege to be entering her 8th year in the classroom working with High School Students in New York City. Ultimately, she strives to inspire a lifelong love of learning, equipping students with skills that will benefit them well beyond the classroom.
