  • Tutoring programs are those organizations that offer one-on-one and/or small group tutoring directly to students, either in-person, virtually, or through both modes of delivery. 
  • Technology platforms are technology platforms that facilitate tutoring programs.
  • Interventions offer materials (e.g., an instructional scope and sequence, placement assessment, progress monitoring tools) that are used by a tutoring program, but do not offer tutoring directly.  

This database is intended for Districts, States or nonprofits to identify potential tutoring partners, for potential tutors to identify potential employers and for tutoring organizations to have a clearer understanding of the landscape and to identify interventions that might be useful to their programs, if needed.

Air Tutors is your district’s online partner in academic achievement. Our interactive experience developed long before the pandemic and, within the prestigious private school and boarding school arena, we polished research driven tutoring and mentoring service with the goal of helping all students reach their full potential with high quality, personalized instruction. Our educator to student ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:15, with our sweet spot in K-12 occurring in groups between 1:1 and 1:5. Our programs take place before, during (Push-In intervention), and after school hours, as well as on the weekends. We have tutors available seven days a week, and while most of our tutoring sessions are scheduled, all participating students can schedule on-demand sessions as well.

Our tutors can assist with K-12 and postsecondary academic subject areas, homework support, distance learning strategies, coaching, and creating routines to help with time management and organization. The tutoring staff at BES understand the difficulties that students who learn differently face every day. With an in-depth knowledge of different learning styles and how to address them, our tutors can individualize their methods to meet each student's needs. eTutorWorld offers one-to-one, and small group, online tutoring in math, science, English, and test prep for students in grades K-12. Tutors are carefully selected subject matter experts with college degree, often Masters, teaching experience, and go through extensive tutor training with ongoing coaching. Students are thoughtfully matched with a dedicated tutor for optimal personalized learning experience and mentoring relationship. Hill Learning Center provides students and educators with the instruction, tools, and support they need to succeed in school, and in life. We serve students directly, and share the evidence based practices implemented in our school with educators everywhere via the Hill Learning System and educator professional development. Our signature program is HillRAP (Reading Achievement Program.) Hill Tutoring serves families with both individual tutoring and small-group classes that are built upon research, individualized instruction, and successful teaching techniques.

Intervene K-12's web-based platform supports data-driven, high-dosage small group tutoring for K-12 students across content areas. Intervene K-12 works closely with districts to diagnose students' misunderstanding by utilizing researched-based analytics. Littera enables district or school personnel to design tutoring programs, setting program parameters such as schedule, student to tutor ratio, session length, content to be used, and type of tutor. When those programs are implemented, the platform manages all the tutor/student matching, scheduling, online tutoring delivery, and tracking of program execution.

The goal of Math Motivators is to close the opportunity gap to, in turn, close the achievement gap by using a volunteer-driven math tutoring program that pairs underserved middle and high school students with professionals and college students with strong mathematics backgrounds.

Founded in 2011 and home-grown in Philly, TEACH offers exceptional tutoring and educational programming K-College. TEACH’s tutoring approach starts with building strong relationships to promote both academic and social-emotional development through creative, engaging lessons. In a typical academic year, we serve upward of 640 students through classes and 1-on-1 tutoring, 75 educators through teacher professional development, and coordinate partnership programs with 10-15 local schools, charter networks, or nonprofits. The majority of our partnerships extend over multiple years and grant cycles. Our team believes that education can be a powerful experience that disrupts the systemic inequities that students, families, and communities face in the Greater Philadelphia area. UPchieve connects low-income students (13+) with free, on-demand math tutoring, science tutoring, and college counseling though their interactive platform. Students can use UPchieve 24/7 from any device (including smartphones, tablets, and computers) to connect one-on-one with a live Academic Coach. Using the interactive whiteboard and text-based chat, students can get help with anything from finishing their homework to preparing for an exam. There is no audio or video to preserve student safety and comfort.
