  • Tutoring programs are those organizations that offer one-on-one and/or small group tutoring directly to students, either in-person, virtually, or through both modes of delivery. 
  • Technology platforms are technology platforms that facilitate tutoring programs.
  • Interventions offer materials (e.g., an instructional scope and sequence, placement assessment, progress monitoring tools) that are used by a tutoring program, but do not offer tutoring directly.  

This database is intended for Districts, States or nonprofits to identify potential tutoring partners, for potential tutors to identify potential employers and for tutoring organizations to have a clearer understanding of the landscape and to identify interventions that might be useful to their programs, if needed.

Brainfuse aligns all of our K-12 content with state standards and works with our clients to customize any aspect of the platform to align with classroom instruction. Brainfuse online tutoring services can be found in thousands of educational institutions and library systems in North America, making us one of the largest tutoring providers in the country.


Carnegie Learning’s Virtual Mathematics Tutoring is an on-demand, virtual tutoring program. Our Directors of Professional Learning collaborate with district leaders to configure a tutoring offering that best fits their needs and their schedule. Our experts will own the overall tutor management, establish a weekly tutoring hours schedule, initiate an easy-to-use scheduling tool for students/parents, provide the live/video conferencing platform, manage the day-to-day support, and share the daily usage data with key stakeholders.

Virtual Mathematics Tutoring could include:
● Live, video-based online tutoring sessions in 15-, 30-, or 45-minute increments
● 30 hours of scheduled tutoring per week
● 1:1 and/or small group sessions
● Sessions offered during the school day or after school hours
● Flexible scheduling 4-6 days per week
● On-demand or pre-scheduled formats
● Choose your favorite or select the first available tutor
● Email and text messaging support for quick questions and homework help
● Weekly reports and ongoing usage data

Our tutors leverage Carnegie Learning's MATHia software to gather real time formative assessment data, identify specific areas for tutoring support and to reinforce concepts covered during tutoring.


SIPPS (Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words) is a research-based foundational skills program proven to help both new and struggling readers in grades K–12 build skills and confidence for fluent, independent reading.

Curvebreakers' program plan is designed to provide school solutions through courses, materials, and professional development for SAT/ACT exams and other standardized tests in an innovative, effective, and engaging style. Our mission is to even the playing field in the college admissions process by offering programs that focus exclusively on the subjects covered on college entrance exams and effective strategies for approaching each question type. 

To accomplish our mission, we continuously evaluate progress toward our goals by analyzing practice test results, engaging in formal and informal discussions with school administrators, and collecting student feedback through course surveys. We make adjustments to our curriculum where necessary to ensure that we are providing the most effective test prep services available. 

Curvebreakers only hires instructors with extensive teaching experience and compensates them at a higher rate than many of our competitors. Our instructors are multilingual, and when offering professional development to teaching staff, we utilize only the most experienced instructors who have attained the Master Trainer level. 

We offer several funding options, whether through school pay or parent pay, and we follow all relevant laws and regulations, including state licensing standards. We connect with the community and families by presenting at college nights, back-to-school nights, or any other school event. We conduct live and/or virtual sessions for students, parents, and faculty on various college prep-related topics. 

Curvebreakers offers standard signature courses of 18 hours of classroom instruction, supplemented with two proctored practice tests. Generally, the classroom instruction is divided into eight 2.25-hour sessions, and each practice test is 3.5 hours. However, based on student availability and/or specific student requirements, course length and sessions are customizable. 

Our school programs were developed by Master Trainers, each with over 15 years of experience in the test prep industry, and feature unique content proven to increase test scores. These programs include personalized homepages, 140-page course workbooks with customized curriculums, detailed course lesson plans, detailed homework assignments, practice tests with detailed diagnostic score reports, session notes emailed to parents, self-study video strategy courses, and instructional videos. 

In conclusion, Curvebreakers is committed to providing high-quality, effective test prep services that prepare students for college entrance exams. Our program plan includes rigorous evaluation methods, highly experienced instructors, unique content, customizable courses, and multiple funding options to ensure that we are meeting the needs of all students and families.


School districts partnered with Equal Education to provide a regional scale tutoring intervention programme to improve the educational outcomes of Children in Care in schools. The programme has a strict design on assessments, methodology and delivery. This was to ensure that the tutoring was helping vulnerable students to attain higher. 

The Tuition: Individualized Learning Programme (TILP) is designed to, 

  • Target literacy attainment
  • Provide accurate assessment using the New Group Reading Test (NGRT)
  • Identify gaps in learning and provide strategies, suggestions, and interventions
  • Address pupils’ individual needs through teaching strategies and Reading Wise
  • Individual support – School teaching staff (SEMH), ReadingWise and EE Operational lead.
  • Raise attainment alongside supporting their emotional needs (SEMH). 

The Tuition: Individualised Learning Programme (TILP) is a three-term programme. As part of the TILP project, teaching staff were carefully chosen to carry out 1-1 tuition (25hrs), where they already had a good relationship with the young person. This enabled the ‘Tutor – Tutee’ to build a stronger relationship and enable the young person to fully engage in the tuition and make progress as a result by raising their attainment whilst supporting their emotional needs.


Intervene K-12's web-based platform supports data-driven, high-dosage small group tutoring for K-12 students across content areas. Intervene K-12 works closely with districts to diagnose students' misunderstanding by utilizing researched-based analytics. The programs' whole child approach prioritizes creating an authentic instructional environment that is culturally responsive.


We strive to close the equity and access gap for under-served populations Nationwide and provide high-quality tutoring by partnering with schools and universities to make available cost-effective online education services. In addition to the direct provision of supplemental academic supports, we train teachers and paraprofessionals to become more effective.


Kelly Education, an established presence inside schools across the United States, will closely partner with parents and teachers to ensure tutoring meets individual student's needs. Tutoring solutions are designed with insights based on its work with school districts over the past 20 years. Upon completing a needs assessment, the education team develops a plan to show how an effective tutoring program should be structured.

Learners working with us can expect to see improvements in their Executive Functioning skills along with significant gains in their targeted learning areas such as literacy and math, better preparing them for school and for life. 


OpenLiteracy partners with school districts, non-profit organizations, and families across the United States to provide 1:1 tutoring for students in grades K-6. OpenLiteracy Tutoring can be implemented during the school day, for instance, during an intervention block or independent reading time, as well as before or after school. Students receive one-on-one instruction from a certified teacher for 30 minutes, three times per week, via OpenLiteracy's virtual classroom. Our COPPA compliant virtual classroom, similar to Zoom, makes it easy to conduct tutoring sessions whenever and wherever needed. OpenLiteracy cares deeply about working in partnership and we regularly communicate baseline and ongoing progress monitoring data as well as attendance.

In addition to providing 1:1 tutoring, OpenLiteracy’s curriculum is available for purchase to use in small group or 1:1 instruction. All lessons are turnkey and ready to use with no additional planning or prep required.


Springboard's recipe for impact is a method we call Family-Educator Learning Accelerators (or FELAs). FELAs are 5-10-week cycles during which teachers and parents team up to help kids reach learning goals. Programming combines personalized reading instruction for PreK-3rd graders, weekly workshops training parents as reading coaches, and professional development for educators.


Founded in 2011 and home-grown in Philly, TEACH offers exceptional tutoring and educational programming K-College. TEACH’s tutoring approach starts with building strong relationships to promote both academic and social-emotional development through creative, engaging lessons. In a typical academic year, we serve upward of 640 students through classes and 1-on-1 tutoring, 75 educators through teacher professional development, and coordinate partnership programs with 10-15 local schools, charter networks, or nonprofits. The majority of our partnerships extend over multiple years and grant cycles. Our team believes that education can be a powerful experience that disrupts the systemic inequities that students, families, and communities face in the Greater Philadelphia area. We strive to increase educational opportunities for students by offering programming at no cost to families through grants with external partners, internal TEACH scholarships, and our Get 1, Give 1 initiative for 1-on-1 lessons.

Our peer-to-peer online tutoring platform leverages the greatest untapped resource in education – students – and gives them the tools they need to help themselves thrive.

Built and advised by some of the leading minds in education, Thinkist makes high-value peer tutoring scalable, safe, and open to almost anyone.


UPchieve connects low-income students (13+) with free, on-demand math tutoring, science tutoring, and college counseling though their interactive platform. Students can use UPchieve 24/7 from any device (including smartphones, tablets, and computers) to connect one-on-one with a live Academic Coach. Using the interactive whiteboard and text-based chat, students can get help with anything from finishing their homework to preparing for an exam. There is no audio or video to preserve student safety and comfort.
