  • Tutoring programs are those organizations that offer one-on-one and/or small group tutoring directly to students, either in-person, virtually, or through both modes of delivery. 
  • Technology platforms are technology platforms that facilitate tutoring programs.
  • Interventions offer materials (e.g., an instructional scope and sequence, placement assessment, progress monitoring tools) that are used by a tutoring program, but do not offer tutoring directly.  

This database is intended for Districts, States or nonprofits to identify potential tutoring partners, for potential tutors to identify potential employers and for tutoring organizations to have a clearer understanding of the landscape and to identify interventions that might be useful to their programs, if needed.

Ravenswood Reads is a service-learning program in which Stanford students tutor children in Kindergarten through third grade in reading and language acquisition.


Read Alliance helps to shrink the achievement gap by pairing early elementary children with high school students trained and paid to provide one-to-one tutoring in foundational reading skills.


Research-based literacy intervention programs designed to accelerate student's reading growth through small-group and one-on-one tutoring in foundational reading skills. Primary focus is on foundational reading skills including phonemic awareness, explicit systematic phonics, fluency, and comprehension.


Reading Assist is a nonprofit organization that provides year-round high-dosage tutoring services to children across Delaware and Pennsylvania with the most significant reading challenges, prioritizing support to low-income students, students of color, and English Language Learners. Since its inception, Reading Assist has helped thousands of readers acquire critical reading skills, changing the trajectory of these learners' lives. To empower students to reach reading proficiency, Reading Assist recruits and trains tutors in its accredited intervention program, equipping them with the skills needed to enhance student literacy in Delaware's and Pennsylvania’s most underserved schools.

Reading Assist tutors work with students performing in the lowest 25% of their peers in reading. School-year tutors consistently bring over 80% of their students to benchmark in early measures of reading ability, such as first sound fluency. 


Reading Corps combines the people power of AmeriCorps and the science of how children learn to read. Trained AmeriCorps members are placed in early learning centers and elementary schools statewide to serve as literacy tutors for children from age 3 to grade 3. Tutors work with children one-on-one and in small groups daily, providing literacy interventions that are tailored to each learner's needs.

Evidence-based program that recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers to provide individualized reading instruction to K-4 students


Reading Power provides one-to-one literacy tutoring for children in prekindergarten through second grade.

Short-term intervention for first graders in reading and writing. Specially trained teachers tutor 1:1 in daily 30-minute lessons lasting 12-20 weeks.

Reconstruction is a Black owned and Black operated curriculum company that provides small group, live, K-12 supplemental and enrichment courses through an online platform that situates Black people, Black culture and Black heritage and contributions to America and the world in an authentic, identity-affirming manner. These interactive courses are designed to bring joy to students with a blend of academic intensives and cultural exploration curriculum.

Remind currently provides k-12 math tutoring in alignment with state standards (Common Core or, i.e,. Since 2002 Revolution Prep has provided academic success and tutoring programs to nearly 1,000 schools and districts and over 1 million students.

All of our tutors are either retired or current certified teachers at some level. Many of our tutors have a Master's Degree, Nationally Board Certified, and/or are award-winners. We have a collection of over 200 years of experience among our 20+ tutors. We conduct individual and small group tutoring for specific subjects (such as reading, writing, math, social studies, and science) from K-college. We also conduct small groups and classes to support students preparing for various tests: PSAT, SAT, ACT, ASVAB, AP exams, and state tests. Our test prep programs help students earn over $20 million in scholarships every year the last few years.


School Connect WA hosts an academic intervention-based afterschool program for K-5th grade students, offering tier 2 & 3 level intervention, for low income students.


Schoolhouse.world offers free, virtual small-group tutoring sessions over Zoom in math, SAT, and AP preparation. All sessions are run by volunteer tutors who undergo a certification of content mastery and safety/quality training.


Schwartz Tutoring provides premier personalized education to both undergraduate and K-12 students. We primarily hire undergraduate students to work with their peers and younger students.


We provide one-to-one tutoring for adult education and high school equivalency preparation (GED/TASC/HiSET) at two Cleveland-area locations, as well as nationally in our Virtual Classroom, conducted through Zoom. Our tutors are all volunteers. Unlike other programs, tutors may work with a different student each day. Since 2020, Sharity Tutoring Inc. has been committed to supporting our community by providing free tutoring services to as many children as possible. On top of managing countless AP, IB, and AICE classes, the tutors at Sharity Tutoring are extremely involved in their community and are dedicated to providing academic assistance as well as guidance to students in grades K-12. By booking an appointment, individuals will receive a private virtual tutoring session completely free of cost. Sharity Tutoring is a 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit incorporation whose goal is to build a community of learners both locally and internationally through free tutoring services. In order to maximize the number of students Sharity's tutors are able to work with, tutors have developed flexible schedules to accommodate students on weekdays as well as weekends.


Simplifi EDU is a private online tutoring company working with both private clients and school districts utilizing state-awarded grants for after-school academic tutoring programs. Our team of tutors is well equipped to assist students in grades 6th-12th in Math, Science, and English. Simplifi EDU will develop a tutoring program that caters to each district's specific needs, including:
- A partnership dedicated to building quality tutor-student-parent relationships.
- A tutor pairing process that works to match students with tutors based on their academic needs, weekly availability, personality, and learning style.
- Weekly updates on the student’s progress.
- Efficient communication between the tutors, students, parents, and district throughout the course of a tutoring relationship.
